Spring Green Area Arts Coalition Announces February Fundraiser The Spring Green Area Arts Coalition will once again hold their annual winter fundraiser on Sunday, February 16th 2020, at the Wisconsin Riverside Resort, S13320 Shifflet Road, Spring Green, Wisconsin. The event will run from 1:30-4:00. Choose Art!/Art Out of the Closet will retain the ever popular Silent Auction and the much anticipated Creative Canvas/3D Art Sale. Attendees will also be able to bid on art experiences. Examples of art experiences include decorating a cake with a pastry chef, taking a sketching hike with a local artist, and crafting perfect cocktails with an expert mixologist. And entirely new this year, the Silent Auction is being expanded to include a Buy It Now section. In support of this event, SGAAC is seeking donations of gently used art to sell at its annual art silent auction and for the buy it now section. Donations of professional quality art in good condition--paintings, sculptures, prints, photography, jewelry, pottery, textiles, lithographs and glass are now being accepted at the Spring Green General Store, 137 S. Albany Street, in Spring Green. Forms at the site will ask donors to describe the items for auction and suggest a fair market value. There is a tax benefit for the year of donation. Donations will be accepted at the General Store during business hours until January 19th, 2020. Creative Canvases, eight-inch by eight-inch squares of original art created by area artists, as well as 3D Creative Art Pieces, will be featured at the February fundraising event. To acquire a Creative Canvas or a 3D Creative Art Piece, a $30 gift certificate can be purchased at Arcadia Books, Prairie Flowers and Gifts, The Spring Green General Store, Convivio, The Shoppe at Herbs, Spices & More, and Nina’s Variety Store starting on January 4th, 2020. Any certificates not sold in advance will be available for purchase at the event for $35 each. Holders of certificates may redeem them for the Creative Canvases or the 3D Creative Art Pieces of their choice during the February 16th event. Winners of the Art Experiences will coordinate directly with the artist to schedule their time together. The event schedule will be as follows: Doors will open at 1:30 pm for attendees to enjoy the music of Jud Swenson while they purchase art from the Buy It Now section and bid on the Silent Auction items and Art Experiences. Bidding for the Silent Auction and the Art Experiences closes at 3 pm, and the drawing for selections of Creative Canvases and 3D Creative Art Pieces will begin at 3 pm. The Buy It Now section closes at 3:30 pm, and the event ends at 4pm. Proceeds from the event support the Spring Green Area Arts Coalition sponsorship of art and cultural programs that benefit communities in the River Valley.
