SUMMARY:Bears & the Bunkhouse: Recent Travels in Alaska & BC
DESCRIPTION:Presented as part of the library's "Third Thursday Lecture Series!"\n\n\n\nSpring Green resident Barbara Morford began her romance with wilderness as a child in the Andes of Peru and has continued to commune with mountains for the intervening 55 years. No surprise that the untracked wilderness of Alaska has become a part of her seasonal migration. As a volunteer and then NPS ranger\, she has been able to lure several area residents into the fold\, including Linda Balisle\, Kath Brandt\, Debbie Kelly\, Jen Rinehart and Ruthann Corrao. Featured parks include Wrangell-St. Elias and Glacier Bay with a quick look at BC's Haida Gwaii.\n\n\n\nMorford was raised in Columbus Indiana\, with a BA from Indiana University and an MA in Andean Archaeology from UW-Madison. She enjoys helping folks plan AK trips and backpacking adventures.
